When creating the reserve, the main goal was to preserve, and in some areas to restore, mountain-forest, mountain-meadow and mountain-lake natural complex.
The entire territory of the Goygol Reserve is divided into very deep valleys, where beautiful, though not very large, but turbulent rivers flow. In the reserve you can admire the amazingly beautiful lakes, there are about ten of them. The main attraction in this area is Lake Goygel. The climate in this area is mostly cold and, as a rule, there are always dry winters.
In addition to protecting a huge number of different plants in the reserve, rare species, one might say, endangered species of animals, are also protected here. Among the inhabitants of these forests are especially protected roe deer, spotted deer, bezar goat, brown bear, hares, wild boar, Caucasian deer and many other unique animals.
