Girkan Nature Reserve
The Hirkan Reserve is located in the Talysh Mountains in the southeast of Azerbaijan and occupied part of the territory of the Lenkoran lowland that adjoins the mountains. The total area of ​​the reserve is 3.1 thousand hectares. The main purpose of creating such a reserve was based on the preservation of natural complexes of amazing relic subtropical forests in that unique transition zone from humid subtropics to dry ones.

Visitors to Talysh Reserve can admire boxwood, an iron tree, velvet maple, giant figs, silk acacia, a huge variety of lianas. On the territory of the reserve are collected 1,900 species of diverse plants, of which 160 species are species that grow only in the Talysh Mountains.

In addition, here you can meet a lot of rare species of fauna. Among them is a splendid leopard, Caucasian lynx, stone marten, porcupine, Talysh variegated woodpecker, Iranian zakaznku, Persian horror and others.
