The National Flag Museum, operating since 2010, was built in accordance with the order of the President of Azerbaijan and is located on the State Flag Square.
Built on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev in the form of an eight-pointed star, the museum is located under the pedestal of the flagstaff on the State Flag Square.
The museum, which was created according to the projects of Azerbaijani architects and designers and used modern design technologies, demonstrates the restored flags of the states and khanates that existed on the territory of Azerbaijan in different periods, including the Irevan khanate, as well as the tips of the banners of the XVII-XVIII centuries , the emblems adopted in different years of the Azerbaijani Constitution, postage stamps, samples of banknotes, orders and medals, numerous photographs and documents reflecting education, formirova and the development of the independent Azerbaijan state under the leadership of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the activities of President Ilham Aliyev in the name of the country's progress, the national flags that the great leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev kissed at the inauguration ceremonies after the election by the president, the flag of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and ceremonial clothes of servicemen of various types of the Armed Forces.
The Museum of the National Flag, which is one of the unique museums of its kind in the world, also demonstrates the certificate of the Guinness Book of Records, which certifies that the flag flag of the National Flag of Azerbaijan is the highest in the world, various books and photographs, the flag waving in 1918-1920 over the building Embassy of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in Turkey. Many of the exhibits are demonstrated for the first time. The museum also has a multimedia system.
